Sure, vanilla and chocolate will always be more popular, but strawberry ice cream proudly stands apart as a staple that people either love or hate. And with antioxidants, prebiotics, and that fruity flavor that makes summer so good... what's not to love?
Today we have a recipe for strawberry powder ice cream that is going to change the way you think about strawberry ice cream. We will be as bold to say that you may even consider it a health food. We certainly do!
Here's the secret to making the best strawberry ice cream you've ever had: organic strawberries.
You'll hear it a hundred times from professional chefs - what you put in is what you get out. If you want to make gourmet food, you must use gourmet ingredients.
OK, now here's the secret to making the easiest strawberry ice cream: freeze-dried and powdered strawberries.
When you want to use strawberries as an ingredient, freeze-dried strawberries are simply the best. Freeze-dried foods retain nearly all of their original flavor, color, and nutrients. Plus, freeze-dried strawberries are shelf stable for years, sometimes decades. That means you can have fresh strawberries in the middle of winter, even if that winter is years from now.
Using strawberry powder makes it so much easier to add strawberries to recipes as an ingredient. You don't need to wash, cut, or mash them. You don't need to account for the extra water. And you don't need to worry about what is in season.
So what if you want the best but you also want it to be easy? The answer may be obvious by now... today we will use organic, freeze-dried strawberry powder to make an ice cream that is incredibly easy and delicious.
